Harrison lists four possible causes for dispersion as related to twist. They are, as mentioned above, static imbalance, yaw in the barrel, dynamic imbalance (which occurs when the bullets axis of inertia is not in line with its angle of form), and insufficient stability. The effects of the first three are reduced by decreasing the twist rate. The fourth one, insufficient stability, is reduced by increasing the twist.
